Dale holds a B.S in Health Promotion and Health Equity, as well as Gender and Women’s Studies from the University of Wisconsin Madison. They are a current MSN-DE nursing student at Carroll University. They are proud to work as a Full Spectrum Doula, a Gender Doula, Childbirth Educator, Certified Lactation Counselor, Placenta Encapsulation Specialist, and Certified Babywearing Educator. Prior to nursing school they moonlit as a Gynecology Teaching Associate at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health, training students to give gynecological exams. Dale hopes to return to that position after obtaining their RN licensure. Dale’s passion is working collaboratively with other like-minded individuals to help create systemic change within the reproductive healthcare system. This is why they are proud to be building community through their private birthwork business Prismatic Birthing Services and Black Queers consultant cooperative, Prismatic Connection. They are a contracted doula with the Foundation for Black Women’s Wellness ConnectRX program. They volunteer with P.O.W.E.R.S All Options counseling, the Wisconsin Abortion Support Network, and former intern/current Perinatal Doula with Public Health Madison Dane County.

Who I am as a doula:

I am client centered. Meaning I recognize that the client is at the heart of their healthcare- they hold all the power and control, especially when it comes to decision making. My focus as a doula is to provide as much education, validation, and support to the people who have entrusted me to be a part of their health care team. I also bring my passion for reproductive justice, health equity, and health promotion into every aspect of my work. Advocacy on an individual level and educating organizations on a systemic, expansive basis is the bedrock of my birthwork. As a nurse I hope to expand my knowledge, abilities, and platform, as well as my capacity to engage with my community, in a meaningful and impactful practice. When I’m not working, doing schoolwork, or raising 7 children, I like to perform on stage - burlesque, theater, choirs-I’ve done it all.
