My name is Claire Baker, and I am a DONA certified birth doula and prenatal yoga instructor. Originally from the Chicago suburbs, I graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Organizational Studies and Sociology before moving to Madison to work at Epic as a project manager. After nearly 6 years at Epic, I decided that it was time for a change and completed birth doula training and certification with DONA International. I have never looked back. I have since supported a wide variety of births including unmedicated, medicated, cesarean, and VBAC clients at Meriter, SSM Health, and in homebirth settings. In my free time I do yoga, foster dogs, meditate, bike around the lake, bake, read, and play cards with my friends.
I am confident that I can help you go into your birth experience feeling strong, supported, informed, and cared for. My role as your doula is to be there for you in whatever way you need me. I will support you in your decisions and be your biggest cheerleader, advocate, and friend. I believe that knowledge is power, and there’s a big emphasis on education as a path towards confidence in my prenatal visits. I have a particular interest in optimizing fetal positioning prenatally and in labor through movement. I also LOVE supporting birth partners and giving them concrete tools and skills to help them feel confident going into the birth. I bring my whole heart to working with my clients and I am excited to share that love with you in your birth experience. I feel so grateful to have found a career that allows me to help people through such an important journey and I look forward to working with you!
